The Tió de Nadal, also known as Caga Tió, is a log with a face, eyes, legs and a barretina that, covered with a blanket, “poops” gifts and sweets for the little ones and the adults of the house.
The Christmas log usually has a length of about 40 cm (17 inches) and is celebrated on the night of December 24 in many homes in Catalonia mostly.
What does Tió Nadal poop?
The Caga Tió de Nadal usually poops sweets and candies for the little ones of the house, but in some homes in recent years he also poops differents kind of presents such as toys, clothes or even a tip, among others. So much for the little ones, but sometimes also for the adults!

Why does the Caga Tió poop presents?
For the Caga Tió to poop presents and sweets for the little ones in the house on Christmas Eve, it is very important that a few days before, the children feed him. The most common are fruits, cookies or milk.
